Why we collect your information
Word collects and retains personal information sufficient to enable us to provide clients with goods and services ordered from us and to acquaint our clients with our goods and services by delivering marketing and promotional material by mail, email or via our web site. This information enables us to keep you up-to-date with the wide variety of material available to enhance your personal and church life growth and ministry.

How we collect your information
Information is collected from you personally when you place an order or otherwise deal with us. Your personal details; name, address, telephone number, email address and credit card details are held on Word’s own electronic systems. This information is password protected and is not available to persons other than our staff who are required to use them to serve you best.


Use of your information

Name and Address
Your name and address is used to send promotional material to you by mail or electronically. We may use mailing houses to efficiently address, wrap and deliver our mailing to on-forward to Australia Post for delivery to you. However the personal information given to such businesses to process Word’s mail to be sent to you is subject to use for that purpose only and cannot be used for any other purpose.

Credit Cards
Your credit card details are used for processing through the electronic banking system. Transmission of Credit Card details is secured by use of Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, which ensures encryption of your details. Your credit card details are used strictly in accord with your instructions to us for use when placing an order or requesting that an invoice or account with Word be paid by the use of your credit card.

Access and Correction
You may access your name and address by inquiring on Word’s web site using your unique Customer Number and password (your postcode). You will also find your telephone number and email address there if you have previously provided this information to us. Should you wish to amend any of your details, this can be done through the 'My Account' feature of our web page, or send an email to us using the 'Contact Us' feature of our web site. You can also notify us via mail or fax to our Nunawading store address.

Supplying your details Overseas
Word will only transfer your information overseas if it is for the reason of supplying information or goods being sent directly to your address in response to a specific request from you.

Anonymity
If you do not wish to receive marketing information from Word via our Australia Post mailing or email contact, you may unsubscribe from our database through our web site under the 'My Account' area, or sending an email to us using the 'Contact Us' feature of our web site. You can also notify us via mail or fax to our Nunawading store address
You may purchase from our stores without providing personal information if you wish. In this event we are unable to issue you with our popular Word Card or allocate points to your card thus excluding you from the benefits of this membership. However this is entirely up to each client to make this choice. We appreciate your business although you may choose this option.

Staff Records
Word keeps personal details of employees and of those applying for employment with us. These details are kept in confidence are not passed on to any person. Details are destroyed when no longer required for business or statutory reasons.

Use by others
At no time will we give or sell your information to any other party for their one time or ongoing use. However from time to time we may include in our mailing to you information from other ministries or businesses relevant to or considered to be associated to our line of business or ministry or special events which we believe may be of interest to you. Should you respond to them directly, your information supplied to them would be subject to their own Privacy Policy.

Requesting cancellation of Contact
You may request that we cease sending mailing or emails to you by using the 'My Account' or 'Contact Us' facilities on our web site, or request this by mail in writing to, Unsubscribe’, Word, 11-13 Moncrief Road, Nunawading, Vic., 3131.
Your details may have to be retained for legal statutory business reasons for a prescribed period but if you request that no information be sent to you we will action your request immediately.
